Why is XP being written off if it is indicated that the download is FREE?

It happened repeatedly. It says FREE. Downloaded, saw that XP decreased by some value. I think that it is necessary to specify how much XP will be charged for download, during download and confirmation, so that there is an opportunity to choose a priority download.

Can you explain better? I mean, it happens with ALL free uploads or just some? If with just some, can you link some examples, for testing? Thanks!

That said - you are able to see the required XP in the; DL section, in the authors/creators page, in the stream tabs, etc. Now we are aware that IF you click on item that needs XP and on the main page for it, for some reason it will say "free". Don't try to justify a small detail to avoid being at fault. I will find it ironic that prior to clicking on the pages, the XP requirement are clearly visible and easy to spot. But for some reason, you decided to ignore it those signs.

No, not all downloads are like that.  Most FREE downloads don't take XP. Which ones were specifically taken away, although they were marked as FREE, it is difficult to specify. Because I downloaded, for example, 2-3 FREE downloads. Then I saw that XP decreased.

I understood. Basically, this probably happened when downloading the necessary addons. Since when you get to the page with the ability to download, information about XP is no longer specified. That is, there is no information about XP on the page where you can download it.

If I went to the page with the "Download this file" button not from the "Download" menu, but from the link, then I will not know that XP will be written off when download.

Here is an example. I'm downloading Nicole's model. It costs 1 XP. There is an X-body in the list of required files. If I follow the link, I get to the download page. To find out how much a file costs, you need to exit and find it through the download menu. If I download it, another 20 XP will be written off.

That is, to find out the cost of downloading a file from a link, I need to find it through the download menu. It's not a fact that I will succeed. After all, I do not know exactly in which category it lies, and when it is placed, that is, even if the category is clear, then where it is in time, I will have to flip through all the pages.

Ah - well using that as a example - if you already DL XBody, there is no need to DL it again - unless the creator updates it. Even so, since you already unlocked it, you don't need spend 'again' (I say this with quotation because XP is now working correctly so it could be timed or IF its has been update it could charge you again - I know, it doesn't sound uncertain but we are still buffering it out).

Aside from that - it comes down to the uploader. We have been saying this to people: Use the detail sections, provide details, etc. Some will use it correctly, others won't. Not saying that said uploader is doing it wrong - we always said do the bare minimum (for those doing it bad), and well, some people do the bare minimum. But You'd be surprise the amount of stubborn-ness that people have. We cant go around pushing people to do it correctly/ add more details that pleases staff/etc - even me as admin, I get flak because I hold some power and some people will get spooked by my honest opinion. Though - you as a user, you have the power to leave a comment, leave a honest review, etc. You'd be surprise by how much some people will change/adapt.

I see, thank you. The uploader may not post information about the cost of XP on a personal page with a specific download file. This does not happen automatically. I will be more careful, check each download by the link through the downloads tab.

I still think it's more logical if the download cost is written directly next to the download button. There are file characteristics, VX compatibility and a lot of other data. But the download price is not specified, it is unclear why. To make a decision just before downloading.
