Basic H5 looks like this???

Hello, i just started using VX and H5 and very new at this. So i installed H5 Basic that was included in VX Full Game download from here.  But when i load into game it looks like this? Am i doing something wrong?

This was also included in the VX download "Hook5 Basic All Files", can someone help or advise me which ones i should install to make it look better? Much Appreciated thanks.

There are many base room retextures or custom rooms with H5 files on this site.

You must remember, that H5 room folder should contain diffuse textures, normal maps, specular maps and _pass files (with paths to norm and spec maps).

For placing Hook 5 Objetcs and working lighting in the H5 room, room folder must have a level_definition file, else lighting will be like on your screenshot.

Place H5 Room folder to Mod/ActiveMod folder

8. H5 Clothes

Same as H5 Rooms

VERY IMPORTANT!!!

After installing all mods for H5 in game folder, launch TK17_OptionsMan.exe in Binaries folder and make sure that 4Gb patch is enabled, then press Go! button.

If you add or delete any addon in Addons folder or any files in ActiveMod folder, launch TK17_OptionsMan.exe in Binaries folder and make sure that 4Gb patch is enabled, then press Go! button.

Install it all! Part of them will not work (VR, PhysX work only on Hook 5 Paid), but it will be not scare (no crash game)

Ok, so i'm like slowly working on H5, and i have put in all the "Hook5 Basic All Files", however when i tried to load into H5 rooms that were included in the game, like R_Oasis and R_Bathroom Storm_H5, the game crashes right away, and All other regular rooms crashes to desktop. Am i missing something?

So far i installed Body4XMod, 4x Resolution ActiveMod Stockings, 3. SKINS with 4X resolution,

Then i noticed it started happening

 

EDIT: I think i got it to work, i had to Enable 4GB Exectuable & patch it, via from TK17_OptionsMan.exe!!

i am soo sorry to be a pain in the A**, but i downloaded VX Rooms LeToilet & Mia's Room to test, and i put them in the Addon Folder, but when i load up the game, it looks like this? and not useable

Hey! As I can see in the screenshot, the skin you have selected has only basic textures. It does not have normal and reflection maps. For this skin, you need to create these cards. For now, try using my skin files I posted on MEGA.

Yep. Your applying specular with no normals. Check the paths in your pass files and make sure the normals are actually where the pass file says they are.

Thank you very much for all the help everybody!! So i was able to get about 11 downloaded skins working yay! i'm slowly learning how to mod this game!

but now.... can i ask, why are the rooms so bright?  like i downloaded a Dojo in VX rooms from here, but this is how it turns out?

 

 

Also, i noticed i cannot load into downloaded V7.5 rooms with Hook4 lighting? for example  R_Outdoor Desert Oasis, are they not compatible?

Also, my models are not changing clothes, like everytime i load the game, it goes back to that blue bikini outfit, even when i changed another outfit and leave customizer room, is saving outfit on load different for VX? 

Also, i added 1 or 2 clothing mods, but they don't seem to load in the game?

Correct! level_definition files for Hook 4 rooms doesn't work on Hook 5. They use different comands. If I load room with Hook 4 level_definition, I see a black screen.

On this site there are many basic rooms or custom rooms specially for Hook 5 (they have correct level_definition files).

Also, as far as I know, the normal and specular maps for Hook 4 and Hook 5 are slightly different. I don't know exactly what the difference is (in which options), but they differ even visually. Therefore, when using normal and specular maps from Hook 4 to Hook 5, you may not get the effect you expect.

Hey! Understood. Try searching the forums for torrent trackers in the "Games", "Sex Games", "Hentai", etc. sections. True, I came across old builds of the game only with Hook 4 or Hook 5 Basic. Once I saw in one assembly all three versions of the Hook (including 3), but what kind of assembly it is and where to find it, I can no longer remember ...

Edit : how do you know wich file goes where? For exemple, I want to download "Custom.[R9]._Addon.Pack.Ultimate.Hairs.V2" wich contains GUI.icons and HAIR.texture. I assume HAIR.texture goes ito ActiveMods but what about the other one?

I wish I had seen this post a year ago. Gave up when I couldn't stand how hook5 looked. This is a life saver. I take it this is all you need to get it up and running?

hello, just want to share some info about Hook5 menu for other total noobs just like me.

It initially really frustrated me that all the game rooms came out, all so bright, and i didn't know how to change it for the longest time.

You can click on "F4" and it will bring up the Hook5 menu in-game.

There under scene manager you can add your own lights, and reposition it however you want. Don't Forget to "Save" your Work clicking on "Save Level".

 

You can also go into Environment Lighting and change the diff EnvMaps. It will change the lighting style for the entire room, like make it day or night.

How can I tell if the body mod is working properly? I followed all the directions but none of the new textures show up for me.
