Its simmular to final cut pro and can handle up to 4k for the free version.

I use Shotcut. Its free Movie Editor as well.  I Like how can cut Movie i to pieces and Save all with one click

Davinci is great, as long as you don't need hardware acceleration, the free version does it's job well

I use Filmora X, this Davinci application seems interesting, I just don't need anything complex though.

I use it a lot.... it's great!

The free version has everything you need to edit most things.

Be sure to check the color grade section... it's awesome!

Thanks for pointing Shotcut, I used it to make my last video it is really a great tool, all the edit I do with some 1080p

vids remains fluids even with 4 or more pists.

I'm not a huge fan of the actual editing process in DaVinci - more of a Premiere fan - but its colour grading tools are really great to use, and definitely encourage experimentation. And as a free tool, it's a great editor when you're in a pinch.

Davinci Resolve is great, it's super intuitive but I had a crazy hard time trying to add text. There's probably something I haven't figured out but if it's just for simple montage and adding/mixing sounds and music, it's fast and rendering is super intuitive as well. I used Premier and After Effect for a decade and I would recommend Davinci in a heartbeat if you don't need big studio features.

Resolve has become my main editor lately, I have an M1 Pro MBP and it performs way better for me than Premiere does. It's also way more feature-rich than FCPX.
