There is no direct way afaik but Ninjaripper can rip any Directx 8/9/11 models directly from the game, there is a good tool to import to 3dsmax with the weightpaint, armature etc. Then it's just a matter of exporting to blender as fbx. I'm still learning Blender, rigging Game characters, once I get a feel for it, I'll experiment for sure. 

i might look into this later thanks for the info wanted to get the models so i can try to use them in unity or some other engine.

oh wierd had to do that before but it was a long time ago had not used GIMP for a long time 

Yes i used both GIMP and Krita but i still liked krita more and used it more often also i forgot to add that it can also open PS files no need to convert them unlike GIMP where you still need to convert PS file for it to open them.

I also think that krita is easier to use since the interface is quite similar to PS.
