As this is (continued in the next volume) is the only sex scene I've had with the so far (but not soon the last) I wanted to convey the deep level of love and lust Rory & Jaeleen have for each other, as well as the level of trust they share. Yes, it borders on BDSM right on the edge...but that's the point. It's as psychological between them as it is physical. Hank & Bianca are still learning of each other's quirks and kinks even to the current point of the story some full year after this volume took place, but Rory & Jae have been together for about as long as Hank & Christine was...9 years. So they know each other on deep, psychological level. Despite outward appearances of Jaeleen being the "boss babe" type, she is completely submissive to Rory. I wanted this sex scene to convey the level of physical and psychological power Rory has over her, and her acknowledgement that it exists with zero barriers. Even going back to their reunion at Orson's Point, she knows despite the melancholy nature of Rory, he'd never do anything to hurt her she didn't allow him to.
