Two things:

Yes, your characters stats are now you!

Dor example, Serena is a pretty strong girl, but she's not unhumanly strong per se. She has lots of gadgets that makes her nigh invulnerable, like a near indesctrutible sword that can cut anything, a belt that grant her the strength of giants, a bracelet that gives her the stamina of a lion, rings of power that shield her from harm and from heat and cold. Also she's blessed by a divine entity known as Northstar, that gives her several other powers. Aside for plenty other items that makes her even more formidable, but hse don't uses them often. All this is her, anyone that tries to diminish her by saying she's not strong her power comes from her belt, will fell her wrath.

That leads me to the second observation.

In the game ther silver ring is just a basic prop that comes in the vanilla game. But it's now Myriel's ring of power, you give it a whole new identity, and I loved it!

I originally thought of the ring being discarded and sold somewhere for them to have money, but it made much more sense to translate game elements from Tyler's "save file" into the real world. Now that I think about it, Myriel still possessing the ring COULD have further implications for the plot.

It's like you say, a simple prop that is repurposed. In the story, it is her engagement ring from Prince Turin. But maybe now that it's shown her who her true love is, it could unlock a lot of things for her down the line! Guess we'll just have to wait and see!
