My actual reaction to this page is . That's easily the most fucked up a parent, specifically a mother, could say to their child at any age. I think it would actually hurt even more the older you are, because that means that parent has harbored resentment for you for years and kept it hidden.

Cass was actually speaking about her sister Hannah. But yeah... Her mom also wasn't the nicest of people to her kids, so I 100% agree with this statement. And actually, this comment you made hits kinda close to home. Not to me directly, but to people close to me. It is indeed heartbreaking and enraging to see.

I've got close friend who had such an experience not long ago with her father. She never got along with her father, and it was right after her mother passed from the Rona. Her father basically told her he never wanted to be a father, and the only reason he didn't force her mother to abort her was because his own father told him if he didn't man up and be responsible for what he helped create, he would cut him off. So he basically "raised" her with nothing but resentment in his heart. And once her mom was gone, he basically severed ties with her since she was an adult of 28 years at that point. She was devastated as you'd obviously imagine. And yet you have good people who would make excellent parents out there who can't have children. Sometimes I hate this existence. Ok, I've ranted long enough. Back to my reading lol.

Yeah, I too have friends who want children so badly and can't have them. And you see all these pieces of shit mistreating their children, and you wonder why I sometimes wish humanity went through an extinction level event...

There have been plenty of moments within the last 5 years that I wish Covid did a better job than it did, but I don't want to highjack your work with my opinions on some parts of society and my feelings for them.

So fucked up, my sympaties (and empathy) to the characters and real people who has jerks as parents.
