Those mousers can get fucked. Especially the ones that shot the lasers. Hated those bastards because the only way to even get close to them was the jump kick, but they could shoot you out of the air! Kids these days talk about how Dark Souls is the most brutal, difficult game out there. Let them go see what we were playing in arcades back in the 90s LOL!

Tell me about it! When I was a kid, I went to the beach with my family and some friends of my parents, and in the hotel they had a game room with many arcade machines: Mortal Kombat 3, KOF 95, and the holy grail... TMNT - Turtles in Time. I don't remember how many quarters I spent back then, but I was there, by myself, playing all four Turtles and SOMEHOW managed to get to the train stage with the crocodile boss. How did it happen. I HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA. But it was one of my proudest moments as a kid.

So yeah, I knew I needed to make an arcade scene. We got @demonv1 to thank for this amazing piece of nostalgia!

My retro gaming "Dark Souls" wasn't in the arcades, it was Contra 3: The Alien Wars for the SNES. Me and my brother SLAVED at that game for months, literally from X-Mas when we got it to about August the next year trying to beat it. When we finally did, we get the message "congratulations, but if you want to see the TRUE ending, beat it on HARD MODE." Took us damn near another 7 months to do so. When we finally did, we never touched the fuckin' game again...lol.

And people today wonder what happened to replay value. JUST FOLLOW THE CLASSIC FORMULA!! Make a short game, finish it, and THEN make it harder!!

That being said, the original TMNT game on the NES can GET FUCKED.  33 years later and the underwater stage still lives in my deepest nightmares.

Ugh, dude... The fucking JUMPS on that game too! I never finished the fucking thing.

Neither have I. Sure, I could get it on an emulator and go God Mode, but I refuse to even acknowledge that aberration of video game. The devs responsible for it have a special place in hell waiting for them...LOL.

TMNT: Yeah, this game is hard!

Battletoads: How cute.

Battletoads, Contra 3, TMNT, Altered Beast all were coin munchers, but well. They were made for that! lol.

I actually never beat Contra 3 always wanted to beat it. I finished 1 and 2 but not 3. But yeah I know exactly what you mean I had many hard games I did that with.

I know right! It was different back then games were amazing, short and hard. If you wanted to beat it you had to GET GOOD!

OMG I remember playing TMNT and getting so pissed. Funny enough we learned how to get passed the underwater part without taking any damage we got so good at it.

I beat TMNT but man Battletoads is on a whole other level of difficulty of game. That's one of those games were you had to be a literal GOD to beat it. If you beat battletoads you were the man.
