I use hook unlocked - hdr curves give great control over tone mapping, no sun here, 3 or 4 omnis, could be done with spotlights but with omni I dont have to rotate them every time I move them.
No light map and no skybox, but autocubemap with parallax correction. Ambient lighting is 255,255,255, intensity 5-15, more than 1 is required for proper or just better looking metallic surfaces.
Often I prefer to put lights on medium-long range, and greatly increase the intensity (30-50), not all rooms allow it, especially interiors but it gives you soft shadows if that's the aim, and high intensity lights overall make subsurface effect more visible - good for outdoors.
