I knew we were expecting issues of Stiel Maiden talking about the past, and I know we're going to get the story told over the next few issues. But GOD DAMN!

I don't know how you do it, Oz. You've singlehandedly created a character that's got the charm of James Bond, the lethality of John Wick and the backsass of Billy Butcher and make him a truly likeable SOB. And it really sucks because of what the story has set up and I'm sort of, kind of aware of his destiny, even if I may be wrong about it. You just want this guy to win at life, every time. And even if his role in the story is limited, he's by far one of the best written male characters I've ever seen. And this is just his first appearance!

No more words. Bravo, good sir. Five stars don't make your work justice.

As far as "origin" stories this has to be one of the best crafted ones I've read. We get a glimpse at some established characters in their pasts and get introduced to a certified bad-ass in Johnny. In just one volume he may have become my favorite character of yours. There's excellent foreshadowing as well. As readers we can clearly see how a couple elements are going to play out, but it's no less interesting to experience as it's clear there's going to be a massive payoff at the end of this arc. Safe to say I'm waiting in anticipations for Revelations Part 2.
