So, I posted a small comic, but apparently, people haven't really gotten to read it! It feels like I'm being shadowbanned every time I post here lol! (JK) In case you missed it, here it is:

I can't say for sure what made the image quality take such a nosedive (Canva isn't usually this lame), but that got me motivated to work on something. Before I start getting into the whole philosophical and existential aspects of why I do/stop doing what I do, I'm just going to shut up and let this sink in. Myriel and Co are coming back!!

Fair warning: I'm not setting a date of release yet. I still need to figure out what I want to do with issue 2 of VG Elf before I even set out to continue capturing. And by that, I mean I want to figure out where to take this story. The main problem I have with my serialized comics is that I don't know what the logical step to continue something is. But since you guys have already had a bit of a drought regarding comic book content, consider this a gift/slight spoiler alert for VG Elf, as well as me spitting my brains out and keeping a record of what my plans are.

Issue 2 is where Raina Vespera (the Dark Elf at the end of Issue 1) will finally show herself to Myriel and Tyler. The idea is to cause a conflict that will end up with her losing to Tyler, but here's where things will get tricky. Will she join Tyler and Myriel, or will she try to break them apart? In order to figure that out, let's take a quick look at both my protagonists for this.

First off: Tyler Phillips. My intention for Tyler is to make him a character who's very much grounded in real life, but his interactions with Myriel make it so that he opens his mind to new possibilities not just for lewd situations, but also for personal growth. Even so, Tyler has a strong moral ground, feeling insecure about the situation he is in, still not believing fully that it is real even when the evidence is pretty much damning. Having lost everything once makes him afraid of losing Myriel, so he tries to do his best under his new circumstances, but still carries with the burden of throwing away the opportunities he's had. He is also a pervert and will always try to get in sexual situations with Myriel as his partner, but ultimately understands that she is very much a person who he has to care for and protect, and will stop at nothing to see it through, even if he isn't immediately rewarded with sex.

Moving on to Myriel Amarillis, she is a noblewoman in a position of power who has been suddenly released from her duties when she was magically transported to the real world. Being a woman of tremendous beauty and sex appeal, she may encounter moments when men try to woo her into sexual situations, but she will assertively reject any and all advances in favor of Tyler, who she is in love with. Myriel has a wide-eyed POV for what the modern world offers and even though she is more than willing to explore any and all fetishes Tyler wants, she is still very self-aware of how different she is from human women, which could possibly lend to encounters with other women who may feel jealous and spiteful just because of the way she looks. Despite her looks and willingness to satisfy every single one of Tyler's desires, she is very much a morally righteous character, and her previous regal status is very important for the way others perceive her. That's not to say she might not fall victim to the Lucky Lecher Curse trope, but that's still to be determined.

On another note, the introduction of the Hero App in the first issue basically put Tyler on God Mode, but he is still very much reluctant to take advantage of that to improve his life, save for the monetary issue. On the subject of money, the in-game currency for Legend of Alfheim are gold coins, which value per piece is the same as it is in the US per piece today according to USA Gold (roughly around $2,300 USD). Tyler's currency in-game is 19987054 G in Issue 1. This would effectively turn Tyler into a BILLIONAIRE after conversion. However, as I stated before, he doesn't want to rely on the Hero App to selfishly breeze through life. There could be a moment in the future when he becomes a little too self-indulgent for his own good, but I haven't gotten to flesh out that conflict just yet. The idea is there, but since he has Myriel to rein him in, I don't see it as a viable point of contention at which he becomes too much for her to handle.

I started drafting the first few pages of the second issue, but in hindsight, I think I should probably take the time to work more on world building around Myriel, since she is the extraneous factor in our world's equation. Also, I need to factor in Raina and to a lesser extent, Reggie.

Raina Vespera is a hard-ass through and through, and will only submit to men who can best her in combat as she is a vicious warrior, always going for the kill, but is also restrained and stoic serving under Myriel. Her love for the princess is too big as she graciously took her in despite the wrongs she's committed, and is willing to lay down her life for Myriel should push come to shove. However, as per shown in Alfheim Chronicles 1, in defeat, Raina becomes entirely submissive, even willing to be degraded to inhuman degrees. When that occurred, she didn't have a choice but to submit to the twisted perversion of her captors. However, when reuniting with Tyler, her world view will be violently shaken, and she will have to come to terms with the result of the encounter. Also, you didn't hear this from me, but in a future Alfheim Chronicles, we will bear witness to a curse she was cast with, that will affect her life in the modern world.

Finally, Reggie Watson is the resident douchebag. He takes advantage of people, has a way with words to get what he wants and slip out of trouble, and has no qualms about treating women like sex objects. He took advantage of Tyler before the story started to make him work for him to scam people and we will see Tyler face the repercussions of his actions at some point. This, however, will also play an important part for Reggie, as the intent with him is to make his naughty ways catch up to him somehow. Tyler is fully aware that the things he used to do for Reggie are wrong, but Reggie isn't so aware of that. He is selfish and falters at the sight of real danger, and he will weasel out his way into safety, not knowing when that is ultimately going to fail him.

So yeah. I'm pulling a John Wick on you people and still going to say "I'm not back". I don't know when or how this will pan out, but the important thing now is that there's finally some progress after months in the dark, which is a positive after the way the previous blog entry ended. The fire is being slowly rekindled, but it won't stay like that unless I find the time to put in the work, at least with this. After that? Who knows.
