I know this pain well. When my Omen had it's accident back in 2021 I unlike you didn't have a back-up, but THANKFULLY there was enough of my older content in archives that I could just sift through it all and rebuild my database that way. I'm happy to see this mishap hasn't knocked you completely out of commission.

What amazes me the most, is that it seems you would have missed more your TK files than the whole computer.

And that, my friend, gives me  chance to smile about this bad news. It's like "meh, fuck that new expensive piece of technology, I've got the important things in a safe place".

In any case, I hope you can upgrade ASAP.

Yeah it sucks man but that backup hdd was such a good purchase, so glad I had it.

I know right. It would've made me super sad if I lost my dev files. I am sad I lost my nice PC but not nearly as much. I really like this game and my mods way too much.

But yeah I should be able to save up and buy another one it just will take a couple months so no big deal.

Yeah those files they are the result of hard working and a lot of time invested. The hardware is ‘only’ a tool, be it an expensive tool. I use a mega sync folder to keep them safe, in combination with an external drive.

I’d say, don’t spend too much  I’m using a second hand acer nitro 5 which feels kind of cheap but the i7 core with rtx 3080 and Ssd really fly. Cost me ‘only’ 700 eur

Yeah it's important progress and would really suck to lose.

I'm not going crazy but I do want to get at least a i7 with RTX 4060.

I suppose you had the backup disk unplugged from your pc and power supply?

Did any other appliances short circuit and doesn't your house have a lightning rod?

Demo, I'm too used to some consumers rights here in Brazil, but isn't it possible to file a complaint within the government against the electrical company?

Yeah I only plug it in to backup files.

Hell no this crappy apartment I live in was made like in the 50s and the wiring is so shit.

Nah maybe with this apartments but that be too much effort, I just buy a new PC and move somewhere else.
