A wise man once said: "The best way to make God laugh is to speak your plans out loud".

I say, even thinking them ensures that result.

Still, what is life without taking risks? I bring to you something I'm currently starting work on. If you read this entry, then I'm sure you'll be aware of my intentions of creating a spin-off for Gravure Love centered around Hikaru Ichinose and his life as part of a PMC called Maverick. Well, I haven't done jack shit for that just yet. But I'm slowly starting to change that.

Thanks to inspiration from a fellow degenerate friend over on Instagram, I decided to give Maverick a try, but from a different angle. It is quite obvious that the original project I had in mind for it was, to put it bluntly, too ambitious for the medium I intended to first portray it. So, instead, I've decided to go an alternate route.

In the next few weeks, I will start publishing a brand new blog which will greatly expand the lore of the Trappverse Earth. Namely, Maverick and its reach. Some other things might be mentioned and a lot of characters as well. However, I want to write detailed entries for anyone interested in how I do world building for my stuff. Some of the stuff posted on the original Maverick blog will most likely be retconned, so expect a few changes and/or expansions to things. Hikaru will not be the only character I talk about, but he will take center stage on an adjacent project.

I can't confirm this will become a series, but for now, I'm prepping the first official issue of Maverick (name still subject to change), which will deal with the years after Hikaru's defection from the organization at different points of his life before the comic Love From Beyond. This first issue will feature mobsters, a secret mission and of course: SPICE. Like, extra hot spice. Probably a bit too much.

Not spoiling much else because I still need to capture, which given my present status, is a NIGHTMARE... But I'll try and hang in there. I do want to see this one reach its conclusion and see how you guys like it. I think that my current situation with work and lack of time to work on this is getting me to the breaking point, so I'm going to have to take the path of least resistance, as time consuming as it might be. I am not content knowing that I have so much left to say and not being able to do so.

Stay tuned, my peeps. Great things are coming.

Sometimes, a pivot is needed to bring life into an idea. I did so with my original vision for Magnum Opus. Once I started coming up with supporting characters outside of Yaz and Sho I had to go another direction for the story. I'm looking forward to seeing what this new direction will lead to.

At this point, Hikaru has dealt with many things: Violent criminal groups, double-crossing, and more. He's properly cut for whatever situations he's in, and it's about time he proves it. Of course, there is also an overarching plot regarding something happening within the organization. But that's a story for another time.

And yes, I think this babe is going to be a real firecracker. I need to put the work in and make her really stand out!

Supporting characters are the lifeline of my stories. I think side characters are definitely needed for a project of this scope. I can't say how well (or bad) things will turn out, but I've had enough of spinning my wheels while time just passes by. It's time to get my war face on.

I have been interested in Ikaru since this came to life a year ago:

 

Anything that makes me understand him, will be amazing. I need to understand how and why Ikaru and Rassía's paths coincide and, literally, collide at their hips. 

Man, anything coming out of that deranged brain of yours, is well expected and even desired.

Holy shit, that was a year ago?! Man, I can't believe how quickly time flies...

And yes, I need to set up things for that to happen. I already have the idea in my head, which is nothing but a MASSIVE coincidence that will show Rassía a good time and, in hindsight, show her flickers of the life that awaits her. And at the same time, since by that point Hikaru isn't committed to anyone yet, he can relax and unwind without thinking about the emotional implications of it, which will play out in the new comic I'm working on.

I'll just spoil this bit of information about his time running from Maverick. He was ANGRY at that point. The first year he spent away from the organization was the worst year of his life. He had just lost his fiancee to the organization he worked under and went down a dark path of addiction and recklessness. And he wasn't nice in bed. At all. He had to re-learn how to adapt to life and people and by the point he is in this upcoming issue, he starts behaving more like his GL version, but there are still flickers of that angry, violent man rearing their ugly head. And he will be brought back to reality during a pivotal moment there.

Because in that moment, Rassía was passing trough something VEEEEEEEEEEERY similar; although not completely. NICE! I love how it sounds and the importance my girl would have in his story. She'll be a mean to an end. Cannot wait!
